Congrats and welcome to the M3!! I just traded my 2007 GT500 vert for an 2008 M3 vert!! Both amazing cars in their own right! The M3 is much more sophisticated and handles like a wet dream...but the GT500 will smoke it stop light to stop light - you can really feel the M is down 100hp and 200lbs of torque! I do miss the "instant on" of the GT500's 5.4L SC Monster V8 but overall I'm very happy with the M3. This being a new V8 for 2008 - there aren't a ton of mods out yet...I'm hoping for a handheld tuner and CAI package - similar to the JLT/EVO Tune combo I had on the GT500. Post pics of your new M3 (and your GT500 too) and enjoy the ride...it's sublime
