For a fast launch, you probably want to be more like in the 4000 rpms and let go off the clutch pretty quickly--but not to the extent that you dump it. That said you don't want to ride the clutch either. Somewhere in between dumping and riding it. You should get "some" wheel spin, but not too much. If you get too much wheel spin you need to back off the gas a little. It's okay/desirable to get some wheel spin as long as the tires grab on pretty quickly. Don't do this too often or you'll wear off your clutch prematurely however well you execute it.
