My advice is to only go there to try to win something that you really want and are willing to pay full price for it. My wife and I wanted a tv for our bedroom so we went there and got a $500.00 tv for $36.00. I will say that I am sure we got lucky but we would have paid full price anyway. We have also won quite a few gift cards for cheap.

I think that the people calling it a scam just go there expecting to win everything they want for cheap. When they waste a bunch of money losing auctions on crap that they wouldn't buy outright, they get pissed. It is not a scam, it is just competitive.
