Ok I have to chime in here..first and foremost...
1) You DO NOT get out what you put into the car in mods..as others have said part out is how this is done
2) How do you figure only $20K in depreciation..putting a blower and completely changing the drivetrain/suspension as you did accelerated depreciation by a whole lot more than $20K..orginality is where the market for these cars are.
3) You have a car that has at LEAST 3 damaged panels
I think you need to re-align your expectations here.
Sentimental value does not = fair market value
