When I worked for Toyota we did something similiar, we would call or mail customers telling them we have customers looking for the varthey have so they would hopefully buy a new car, you'd be surprised at how many people take up the offer but we were contacting people cars arou d 3-6 yrs old not 2 yrs old for the most part, also depending. What var the customer was driving and what they wanted we could actually save them money so it's not completely bs,
just thought I'd fill you in, it's crazy the stuff dealerships do, so many little tricks in the car industry
