Congrats on the GT-R, although I strongly disagree that the M3 is a disappointment after owning a 335i. True, the M3's torque band creates a different feeling than the 335i when it comes to seat-dyno, but the M3's performance can hardly leave you wanting more (for me at least). As for the GT-R, I would have serious worries about making that type of a purchase after seeing all of the warranty issues and disputes that have come up in the last 6 months. Keep away from that VDC OFF button!

As for the whole NA vs. FI thing, BMW M has probably planned this for quite sometime. They probably knew when they were building the S65 that it would be the M3's last NA engine. That makes me want it even more. FI has a lot of potential, but there is something mystical about NA that FI just can't fake well enough.
