Wow, that sucks! I've never had that happen with a set of hawk pads and I think I've been through 15 sets (DTC70s, and one set of HT10s) across both cars now. Your experience is similar to a friend of mine's with the RS19, which is why I have been surprised to hear such great things about that compound.
When there is a pfc compound available, call it done.
