???? The KERS system is and electric motor-generator sandwiched between the engine and transmission. It harvests electricity and stores it in a Li-ion battery which can return the power to the motor-generator for added acceleration when needed. How the heck is that like a turbocharger, even if it is electrically driven?
Most of the F1 KERS troubles are related to the siginifcantly overcharged Li-ion batteries they use and the problems associated with temperature management. I would think that the proposed electric turbo will not have power-harvesting or power storage abilities.
