Trey, I can assure you I am neither a girl or a newb
I worked part time a gun store for years and every person I sold one of those bad boys to was either a hunter or clearly compensating for something. I actually sold one by telling a guy his son's 45 was more of a man's gun than his little 9mm. Bought the bastard on the spot! No doubt you get mobbed, since everyone wants to see what all the noise is about, but mostly people just get annoyed because it fucks their concentration when a hand howitzer goes off two stalls down. It's like the dickhead at my rifle club with the .338 Lapua and the muzzle brake who has to chose the spot right next to me every time he comes out.
Anyway, I'm not bashing on you specifically, just sharing my observations as a gun professional and an avid shooter myself. And, just like the Lapua, the 500 is expensive to shoot, teaches bad shooting habits from the enormous recoil and is generally a bitch to carry around. All of my BS aside, I'd love to see pics. They are truly awful to shoot and they are an engineering marvel to behold!
