Probably because if straight line performance is all you care about, the M3 is not the car for you. And if you are already trying to compare the low end torque feeling from a tuned N54-55 to the M3, you will be disappointed. It's just a different kind of car. I think it takes a certain type of driver to appreciate and prefer a high revving N/A car over one with lots of power available at cruising RPMs.
I wiil appreciate the high reving N/A engine cause i've already owned e46 m3
and you know what, i miss this crazy sound and instant throtle response,but anyway i'll buy a tune for 335 and after a while change it for a proper beast e92 m3
