Yes it is if the spring rates are different than the OEM spring rates lol. I have many friends who have had this happen to them as well as friends who are engineering majors and have explained this to me in detail. This has also been documented on many, many car forums.
My guess is that the H&R sport spring rate is very close to that of the stock M3 spring rate so your shocks will last much longer than, say, H&R race springs paired with standard 3 series shocks.
