3/4" drive breaker bar makes a 1/2" drive ratchet look puny.
Just leaned on it and it swung downwards.
Crank bolt on the way out
My holding mechanism. I threaded a couple of flywheel mounting bolts in and they interfered with the mounting bolts of the engine stand arms, which was good enough to counter the force applied to the front of the crank.
Cleaned this up and replaced the o-ring, which had turned into plastic. This part seems to be neglected on most M20s that I've seen.
Oil filter housing. Completely disassembled, new oil filter and seals installed. Thick crust of oil+dirt mostly removed.
Front lower timing cover. Water pump out and gasket soaked in gasket remover. The crankshaft oil seal has a obvious leak.
Cleaned up and reinstalled with a new cover gasket and new oil seals. The oil pan gasket mates with this cover and pieces of it just flaked off when the cover was removed. No wonder there's yellow sealant all over the front. That's next on the list...
