If one trys to postulate that somehow engaging in the war in Iraq has prevented terrorist attacks at home, I then ask what has been gained?
In 9/11 we lost around 3000 people who were killed.
Thus far in the war, over 3000 Americans have been killed. Its kinda evening out. And at a cost about 1000 lives per year to prevent a terrorist attack (if thats even possible), I think we'd be better off not fighting a war, and using our resources as best possible. Even if we had one terror attack every 10 years, fewer Americans would die then are dying at the current rate.
We're sending Americans to their deaths just to prevent Americans from dying, doesnt seem to be making a lot of sense to me.
