The M3 is a blast in the snow! Just respect the conditions, and take it easy with the right foot. The car is very capable in the light snow... it becomes a snowplow after that though. I drove the Cayman S during last winter - no problems as well. And I live in the snow-belt.
Just watch out for other stupid drivers with their SUV's and bald all season tires.
