There are valid reasons for differentiating between sacks and losses, as it indicates whether or not an actual play was initiated.
I agree but its not JUST Jay... Martz encourages holding the ball longer with the plays he calls. If he starts calling shorter quick passes, Cutler gets rid of the ball faster and thus stops getting hit, no concussion, thus we make it a game.
