Nope, haven't been to Thunder Ranch. They are a lot closer now (in Oregon vs. their old location in Texas.)
The only classes I've done have been locally from LMS Defense and 10-8 Consulting....
As for the Diamondback, I just checked one of my suppliers, and they have 959 in stock on the all black, and 588 with the nickel slide. Should be no problem for someone to stop by their local shop and pick one up...
My favorite online retailer, Bud's Gun Shop, has them for $312 shipped. You'd just have to pay a local FFL's transfer fee ($25 and up usually) and possibly sales tax....
