I've sold a few guns to "green card" holders, it just takes a few extra pieces of information for the 4473, and they almost always get a "Delay" from NICS. A day or two later the status changes to "Proceed" and off they go.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions, Im lost right now so I think a visit to a gun shop and the safety course probably are first on the list of things to do.
Mostly this is for self defense.
Yeah not sure if I want an heirloom piece so soon esp if Im gonna practice with it alot (Im assuming these things depreciate like cars or is this a bad assumption?) but that is definitely something I want to get later once Im more familiar.
Also I always see a ton of LEO Refurbs on slickdeals, are these usually not a good idea?? I figured I can get into something relatively inexpensive and since Im a noob it wont matter too much that its a refurb.
Actually I didnt know that, Ive tried before and the gun store turned me away. I havent tried since and this was a few years back.
