So, what if it's a cold morning. You start the car to go to work. The moving "redline" on the tach says, let's say, 6K. You get right onto the on-ramp and are bit too eager on the throttle and you blow past 6K. My questions are:

1. Will the rev-limiter kick in at this lowered "cold" red line?
2. If the rev-limiter doesn't cut in and only works at 8400 rpm then will going past the lowered "red line" on the tach be counted as an over rev?
3. If it is counted as an over rev I don't see how they can blame any sort of bent valve, let alone a broken valve sping on this. Can they?

Just wondering.
