BUT: They also state, that they fill in 1 additional liter of DCT fluid to compensate the higher load and heat due to the increased power-output of the 4.4 ltr engine.
To achieve the additional GTS displacement ( M3 GTS engine displacement is still less than M62 / N62 engine displacement ) they mention to use different pistons and a different crankshaft. Cyliner bore ( 92mm ) is unchanged, stroke increased from 75.2mm to 82mm. They don't mention conrods.
Now, should we learn from this ? I guess, yes.
