So I was doing a little housekeeping and was going through my old stuff. I was going through a drawer that had a bunch of baseballs from when I used to play little league (game balls and stuff) and came across one in a glass case.
I turned it around to look at the writing on it. It said:
"Al Leiter. No Hitter 5/11/96"
So I got curious, and researched the date a bit. From Wikipedia:
Following the 1995 season, Leiter left Toronto and signed with the Florida Marlins as a free agent. In his first season as a Marlin, Leiter made his first All-Star team, going 16-12 with a 2.93 ERA and 200 strikeouts. On May 11 of that year, Leiter pitched a no-hitter against the Colorado Rockies, the first in Marlins history.
I have a signed Al Leiter baseball from the first no hitter game in Marlin's history!
Thinking it might be a fake or something, I googled "Al Leiter Autograph" and came across this site, http://www.fansedge.com/Al-Leiter-Au...ml?cj=33-91195
, which had a picture of a signed ball:
The two signatures are an exact match! Not to mention there are numerous other signed things in Google images which have the same exact signature! I wonder how much the ball is worth?
Spool can take his pearl and shove it!
Here is the pic of the ball:
