It's very likely an OEM EU filter, which to me is not a bad thing since it eliminates the charcoal element, is less restrictive and has stock-like particle size filtration. It also fits very solidly, no rattles to speak of.
Notice that the aluminum cap goes thru the frame and visible at the interior of the filter, not a simple modification for a $54 filter, I'm guessing it came this way from the OEM manf. to someone's spec (AA) if it's not an off-the-shelf EU OEM part.
Compared to the US OEM part this filter has at least twice the number of pleats.
