The update is I drive the car.

I did end up fitting a MMI box which turns out to be a POS. I am going to end up fitting a NBT Evo into the car in the coming months (even though I promised myself I wouldn't)
I also got a a replacement mirror glass for my burnt out one.
The car is currently sitting just under 208k miles. Last weekend the M3 identified as a moving van and today I finally got the M3 to pass Colorado emissions and finally got CO tags after being here for almost three years.
Currently the car urgently needs:
Front and rear rotors
PCV value replacment
Rear Diff bushings
The car goes back to the shop on Monday where I will probably be out another $2k bringing the grand total to $23k-$24k. Definitely far away from the cheapest E92 M3 now but it will be 100% mechanically sorted and will drive nicer than most examples with 50-75k less on the odometer. The game plan now is to put my head in the sand regarding the quick evacuation of cash from my wallet and enjoy the car.
