All this CDV interest is a tad bit odd to me. Who cares if there is a CDV if you like how the clutch operates? It's easy to tell if you have CDV - just pop the clutch. If you have to pick up your head off the back seat you don't have CDV. If the clutch slips a while, you've got it. Generally the only time BMW adds a CDV is if the powertrain can't handle the impulse/torque of the engine without long term damage. Not a problem on the M3
