This weekend I started the color change. I used a heat gun to loosen the adhesive on the labels, so I was able to save them. I'll decide after I'm done as to whether I want to reapply them. I ordered some AW paint in an aerosol can for another project a bit ago, so looks like I'll be able to put it to good use again. I picked up the paint remover from Lowes. Works wonders.


After letting it sit for a couple hours, the paint peeled off in strips. All that remained was a thin film of primer in some locations. A quick wet sand w/a coarse steel wool pad, followed up by a spritz of some mineral spirits and we have this:


I actually got the base coat on last night. Waiting for it to completely dry before applying the top coat, then the clear. I'll grab some pics tonight of how I rigged up some bungees to hang it in the wash room .
