Sorry for getting to this later than promised. But here is all the data of Engine#1 and it's clearances.
The clearances calculated are the following:
- Engine#1 VAC/Calico Bearings loaded into connecting rods with ARP connecting rod bolts. Torqued to specification.
- Engine#1 VAC/Calico Bearings loaded into connecting rods with NEW OEM BMW connecting rod bolts (TTY).
- Constants: Bearings, connecting rods, crankshaft, micrometers, bore gauge, calibration rings and blocks, ambient temperature (70*), torque wrench, sockets.
- Variables: Connecting rod bolts (ARP, OEM BMW)
regular_guy was kind enough to tabulate the spreadsheet of data I sent him to be forum friendly. Here are the results. The ARP bolts yield greater clearances between the top and bottom shells where the measurements were taken.
