What makes the difference is the 7 speed short gearing on the m3 compared to the 6 speeds which obviously have one less gear and ratios less spaced. So the actual power delivered to the ground factoring in gearing, as well as the speed of the dct, makes the power advantage much more than what it appears to be from the whp figures
