There are a few companies that sell replacement trigger guard/magazine well replacements for the Remington 700 that will convert it to use a magazine.

+1 I have a Remington 700 with the Battle Arms Development bottom metal that accepts mags. It is a bolt action of course, but easily within the price range you're looking at. And it's my favorite gun to shoot.
