I decided to make my break in 1000 miles instead
The dealership didn't cause any issues.
I'm not sure about BMW M engines but Porsche tests/dynoes each engine in factory before they get installed in the cars. The break in period is not just for engine but also for transmission, clutch, differential and other components as well.
