Doubt it's possible, but I really cant understand why BMW made some cars with such useful trunk features, and then made some without. On the 5 series when your press the trunk button the key, it doesnt just unlock, the whole trunklid opens for you. Is it possible for the M3 to do that?

The E9x "new" style gas-tube
trunk hinges are not designed to lift the trunk weight. The F-chassis models use the "old" style spring-loaded
hinges that can support the trunk lid weight so it does open wide just by unlocking.
