I just need a place to secure them, don't even need the safe aspect of it. Don't need 30min fire proofing, they are all insured. I just want a secure place to keep the weapons and the ammo. I suppose the fire proofing would be good for the ammo, but i do keep them in air tight ammo cans, would likely add a little bit of time in a fire... It seems that heavy gauge security cabinets are just as rare as cheap safes.
My Costco safe was under $600 it claims to be a 24 gun I think, I just put it in the garage (because its f-in heavy) and bolted it to the floor. I got it shortly after we brought a kid home.
