It's a carbon fiber spring. I've been wanting to get a my hands on set of Hyperco's for about a year, but there are too many unanswered durability questions for me to accept the possible figure per corner price of admission.
Race teams have long embraced the philosophy of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", so the adaption of these springs have been slow, I think.
One potential issue for cars that use struts (like ours) is that the carbon springs have a larger OD vs traditional springs, and this could potentially reduce tire/strut clearance.
