I think the diff plays a much bigger role in making the M3 so special than what it gets credit for. The car is so drifty yet so easily controlled and much easier to transition from oversteer on exit smoothly back to forward acceleration. The 330 is much more abrupt.

I remember I was doing a drift practice in the M3. The diff was so good at getting the car straight again an ex-formula drift guy had trouble keeping my car sideways.

On other point of comparison for Paradocs98...I do drive the cars differently. I much more aggressive on the throttle with the M3. When the M3 understeers on exit or I come in too hot and the car won't rotate, I will usually stab the throttle to get the back end around. In the 330, I will unwind the wheel or slightly reduce the throttle. I know in the M3 I can smoothly collect the back end and get back on line. If the backend becomes unsettled in my 330, it will usually kill quite a bit of speed.
