Sounds like you should be happy with what you have and drive it. Make more money than step up to a faster car or get a cheaper american muscle.
The 911 is even a worse idea. Replace the burbo on a 911 of that year and you will be out 7k so good luck doing maintence
Agree with the first part, but not the second. The engine in the 911 turbos is bullet proof. I've known a number of people who have bought 2001-2004 911 turbos and none have had issues with them. As long as you do your research and find a clean car the likelihood that something is going to go catastrophically wrong is pretty low. Plus for 45k the 911 turbo is in a completely different league than an M3. OP if you're itching for a new car I would recommend trying to drive an old 911 turbo.
