Perez handed five-place grid penalty for impeding
Sauberís Sergio Perez has been handed a five-place grid penalty by the German stewards for blocking other cars during Saturdayís qualifying session for the Hockenheim race. Perez had qualified in 12th.
After reviewing evidence, the stewards decided the Mexican had impeded both the Ferrari of Fernando Alonso and the Lotus of Kimi Raikkonen in Q2. He will now start Sundayís race from 17th on the grid.
The Sauber driver is the fourth driver to receive a grid penalty this weekend. Red Bullís Mark Webber, Lotusís Romain Grosjean and Mercedesí Nico Rosberg will all drop five places too after their cars underwent unscheduled gearbox changes.
