If you are looking ahead coming through the carousel, you have to have a rubber neck to see through T1 and the wall. Then the outer edge drops in the carousel making your turn in point a little harder to find. Then the curbs on the left can upset your car and the bump in the transition can really upset your car...and you are going a lot faster.

Versus T17 which you can easily see the wall coming up to gut check. Then there's tons of room to brake into 16. If you are extra paranoid you can run really wide. Plenty of time to scrub speed. Even if you early apex 17 and the back end steps out, you're more likely to go towards the inside of the track...unless you lift. I've seen 3 spins/offs there going CCW...every car went to the inside.

Just don't early apex T17 and give it the beans. Add more throttle once you KNOW you'll make it.
