You're kidding, right? Deductions for children, marriage, mortgage interest, college, child care, and property tax are part of the foundation of the American tax system. But you're tasking ME with defending it.
Rather than making silly demands of me, I'm sure you're smart enough to answer it yourself, and see how our tax system is based upon determining one's capacity to pay taxes.
