Takes 5 mins vinny, you may not need the update but if you do the car requires the old IDRIVE installed in order to update. A good Indy will do it for £50.

Only some cars require an update I had all my software updated as I was fitting the LCI lights etc.

If your car does require the update the new controller will not function until the update is installed.
