No, the real competition is the Audi RS 4 with 420 HP and 0-60 4.8 s. MSRP is $66K and one option (premium package) puts it at $70K. BMW will not take a back seat to Audi neither in performance or price.

Base 911 does 0-60 in 4.6. M3 is supposed to be slower. Those differences are not that significant anyway. Also, the 911 weighs only 3075lb, way less than the M3. My point is relevant. I bet that the majority of the people on this forum would rather own a 911 if price was not issue. Wouldn't say the same for the RS4.
