I now have a E92 M3 with AA SSK and DSSR and do not have this issue at all. Infact, the shifting feels smoother than the stock shifter. The throw in the E92 SSK is not as short as the throw that was on my old E46 M3.
Hopefully this isn't an issue in the E9X 6MTs. Right now I'd be screwed if I had to drag race someone from a standing start. I would stay OEM with the DSSR if I had to do it over again.

But it doesn't matter since I have DCT
