Not to stir up anything, but not being able to afford a certain car is possibly the main reason car buyers defer to other models. No different than what regularly occurs in the housing market. People shouldn't get offended by what they can't afford, really. When you look at the similarities of both the 335is and M3, it's not logical to settle for the is, because both cars are relatively impractical. Might as well top out with the M3 if you have the resources. Just sayin'.
